The Mayor of Clyattville

No, Clyattville doesn't have a mayor. But, all my life growing up,

I thought of Lowell Upchurch as the mayor.

Whenever we would go "downtown", we would go to Patsy's

or to the skating rink (the feed store now) and we would see Mr. Lowell.

I did learn that he used to be the justice of the peace.

We would go to the mill cafe and eat with him

after church on a lot of sundays.

So, I named Mr. Lowell the honorary mayor of Clyattville.

Hope he doesn't mind.
